Best 16 ft jigging rod

I'm going to be brush pile jigging this year and would like to know y'alls opinion of what 16 ft rod will be stiff enough to use. I want to stay as far away from the piles as possible.

Southern Crappie T series will fit the bill but will be heavy. Looks like you’re going to be willing to have a trade off with a stiff 16 footer.

The problem with long rods will be the weight of them. I have tried both 10ft and 12ft rods for jigging piles and I didn’t like the balance of the 12 the 10 is much better. In most cases the 10 will keep you far enough away from the pile to get the job done. Another option may be a 11ft Rod I haven’t tried that but have seen videos and they seem to work ok to.

Never seen a 16 jig pole. Like Doug said, going to be awful heavy. I would look at a Denali because of the long forward grip. Think I would start by looking up all the different 16 footers out there and check the weight on each one. Secret is going to be finding a reel that balances the rod where you are going to hold it.

Maybe you should try pitching a slip bobber if you need to stay 16' away from brush?

I've used my 16' Jenko SpiderTroll to dip minnows in tree tops before. It's doable. It's heavy but a good bit lighter than the Southerns.

used 10 to 14 foot rods like 11 and 12 best.

I have an 11' ACC crappie stick jigging rod that is very sensitive and super light. It is lighter and more comfortable to hold for long periods than my Sam Super sensitive 12'. The ACC also has allot of back bone for swinging them out of the cover and into the boat. I like them both but use the ACC more. I think the price is the same on both of them.

Most likely will be using a rod holder , just stationary . I plan to do this at Bay Springs . Arthritis would be a kiss of death for me to jig a pole that long all day .Will be doing this with BGJP from B/M .

slip cork works well, I have fished 20' down with them. I try to stay back from the trash and fish.
