    Default Inline reels

Anybody have any input on how well inline reels work. I know that Ed Duke likes them but has anybody used a specific brand that worked well or maybe not so well?

I have two different inline reels. One is a Mr crappie solo and the other is a BnM ultra lite. They are both good but l prefer the Solo because it has a much faster retrieve. They are not for casting. Vertical jigging or pitching. Loosen the drag wheel, pull out the amount of line you want, screw the drag wheel down and start fishing.

I started using big fly reels. No weight but a faster retrieve.

I picked up two Eagle Claw a couple of years ago at Grizzly Jig. Excellent for vertical jigging.

Eagle claw inline reels , can't beat them for vertical jigging on longer rods. Mine are on 11 and 12 foot rods.

Inline reels are what I normally use.
    Lightest weight,
    Foolproof,
    Least memory problems.
IMO only way to go for vertical jigging, pitching and short line fishing the spawn in heavy cover

To make the retrieve faster, fill the reel about 2/3 of the way with filler line or really cheap line. Then fill the rest of the way with good line. They retrieve faster with a full reel.
    I like the Solo's.
