Default Time of the year for a thump

Catching beautiful crappie that seem to move away then back again on brush at 24 feet. When they come back and take your jig there is no question they want it. The thump almost always starts a conversation about catching a pickle or larger fish until the telltale head shaking starts. Water temp from 54-58 degrees.

Can't wait, water is much cooler here and they pop in the mouth, then back out before you even feel it.
