    Default Tightlining

When tightlining with a 9-12 foot pole what is the shallowest water without spooking the fish? Since there would be a difference lets say stained to muddy water not clear.

I use 14 footers and have caught them 2 or 3 feet deep often.

That's good to hear. My tightlining is usually 15-20 foot.

During the spawn on Lake Houston, my boat is in 2-3' of water and catch some 8-10" deep or so. I use a 10' pole most of the time. Our water is very muddy/stained 90% of the time.
It looks like a good dark glass of tea most of the time. 6" or less visibility most of the time also.
