Default A question for the Livescopers

How do the fish react to say hitting a down tree with the boat while fishing it or maybe when your tied up and there's some waves rocking ya a bit.

    Thanks

I can't answer that exact question, But here is a answer from experience- If you hang up to the brush or limbs- and you start to try to free the lure or jig via break off, they move to other side of the trash. And sometimes , leave the area. Go back a little later and they will be back. My 2cts

I have seen them skedaddle when I accidentally bumped the tree fishing standing timber (gust of wind got me). I was in an area with lots of tall trees that came up almost to the surface, in 20-30 FOW. Had hazard buoys around the area. Lots of fish.

No two lakes alike . Seen it where clear water they would run if you got closer than 30 to 40' . I have seen them leave brush piles . But another lake shallow and muddy I have hung up and even bumped covers and kept right on catching . Think it all depends on fishing pressure , water color or even water temps . Some places even 10' deep when several big ones on a piece of brush and they would spook if you caught one . Seen them get lower and tighter to cover , not even look at a bait after catching one . Then fish a stake bed in 5' of water and just keep catching them on same lake sitting within 10' with a jig pole .

Depends on water color a lot . I use long jig poles and regularly free my jig by bumping with rod tip then drop right back in like nothing going on . Seen lakes with fishing pressure change when lots of boats out .

Seen clear water even 20' and deeper where fish scatter even on brush if you get too close . bump boat , wave slap or just shadow of the boat.

Water color will diffidently matter I use 10ft pole so I can stay off the tree or brush pile I’m fishing. Most lakes I fish if the fish are 10ft or deeper seems like it doesn’t spook them as much. If they are shallower than that I’ve seen them leave the pile but if you’re patient and back off the tree or pile they will return. Livescope should show teach you what you can or cannot do.

Sure like to get 'em caught with LiveScope at the 10 foot away mark. When the boat gets within 5 feet they know something's up for sure. They probably see the boat, feel the water pressure change because of the boat, my guess, and they drop down and start moving away. That being said, in high water conditions around flooded green brush, we've caught them right beside the trolling motor on 7 foot rods!

like everything else sometimes the bolt like a rabbit sometimes not .
we sat on fish in the heat of the summer in 4 foot of water one time and the bud said they wouldnt bite when we first rolled up
said they would spook and run off and settle back after 10 minutes or so .
I dropped a jig when the boat stopped right beside the hull and about got my rod ripped out of my hand .
and after the ice chest was full they kinda slowed down a bit .
other times I would see a bunch and ketch one and look back at the graph and there would not be a single fish on the same cover .
I do know on livescope a jiggy jig often spooks them in the winter months for sure .

What he said! I've seen it change from day to day at times. Sometimes every little thing spooks them, other days hardly anything spooks them. Only thing with Livescope you can figure out pretty quickly if they are spooky or not.

I've came across a school of fish in 8-10 feet of water side scanning with the big motor....backed up on them and caught fish with the big motor running in -N- all depends on the day.
