    Default Anyone feed minnows?

Just wondering how long they’ll last without food. I have some left from last weekend. I changed to water and put a shot of G juice in there. Also have aquarium pump running bubble stone. Haven’tlost any this week.

I’ve tried, but not sure it was successful.

Well looking at the weather I may get to Sunday but then it’ll be at least a week after that. I figured I could feed them and change the water a day after.

I bought 6 dozen Saturday, I was very optimistic lol. Probably have 4 dozen left.

You should be fine for a few weeks. I have some minnows in my vat I bought back in November ain't fed them nothing. Probably had 5 dozen now down to 2 dozen or so, just started seeing loss a month ago or so. Haven't had time to fish, been busy. I do have minnow food, and have fed minnows in the past. If only keeping for a month or so it's not necessary. They will live a long time without food, especially in colder conditions. If you feed them they make a mess of the water shortly afterwards. You have to change water and clean filter's.

long ago I could keep a dozen or slightly more quite frisky in the garage in cool weather in a 5 gallon bucket for a week no problem .
if they were there longer than a week they got a little bread crumbs .
no bubbler or any thing extra and never lost many doing it that way .

I keep left over minnows in an aquarium. Along with the standard filter and aireator I also use a bubble stone. I feed them fish food flakes but it takes a day or two for them to start eating them. When the water gets cloudy after a few days I swap out with water from a rain barrel.
