    Default WAY to complicated

Crappie ketchn is all to often WAY to complicated .
The list of you have to have to ketch them gets longer daily.
So keep in mind this about that .
All to often we get into ketch up …….yes I said ketchup
ketched up in you must use this or that to get bit
or if you don't have this or that its not gunna end well
this boat , that graph ,this rod ,that reel ,that line ,THIS jig ?
Well to be sure THIS jig is pretty simple and hurt them pretty well right off the shore .
My bud wrapped a red/orange pipe cleaner around a number 6 ballhead no paint
NO scent added NO nibbles and just dropped them .
He said to me and I quote "I just made a huge joke out of my tackle bag "
he presented them in a falling back to him pattern in 25 fow yesterday
his best of the trip was slightly over 2 lbs .
So as you troll along thru the pages and pages of what you need to ketch a crappie .
remember this , it don't have to be WAY to complicated to go ketch dinner .
    KABOOM is the word yawl
p.s. 20 mph north wind ,bluebird day and high barometric pressure
    go figure right …..

My “kabooms!” have been more of a mild “pop” lately. Now I gotta go buy pipe cleaners!

Reminds me of the time a fellow used a piece of mop! That was Ernest Patty from Texas.

I don't overthink my live minnow under slip cork. Only thinking is sliding the bobber stop sometimes.

That reminds me of my first jigs, I used pipe cleaners and feathers off of an feathered boa held together with sewing thread. They worked just fine. My vice was a pair of vice grips held in a vice.

If you want to stay with basics you just use a hook, a minnow and a weight with a cane pole. If you to complicate that rig you add a float to it.

But it is hard to find the crappie suspended 40'-50' deep in 70' of water with that rig.

I'm old and started out way too many years ago using a cane pole I cut and worms I dug up out of the back yard. I mainly caught catfish from the river. I prefer the current complications even through it usually takes me a year to learn how to use each new piece of equipment I buy.
