Thanks for the feedback guys. I had seen the crappie stalker but the idea of hanging a tarp over bow seems like it would be a pain (wind flap, tarp freezing and heavy in cold weather, etc) but maybe they work. As far as sound deadener inside my hull, i cant do that. That nose part of the bow is not accessible from inside (welded enclosed). One of you asked what LineX location i talked to. It was in Murfreesboro, TN. One of you also asked about flipping the boat over if u wanted the entire bottom sprayed. If its a small boat, they flip them over. For larger ones, they typically use straps and lift with a fork truck. That aint happening with my SeaArk. Lol.

The silent stalker works really great for deadening sound.A friend has one and I really like it . He doesn't because he is worried that when he tries to get on plane the front won't rise high enough to keep it from catching water and ripping it off. To the best of my knowledge he has not tried to get on plane and go fast. He has it on a 240 seaark.

How much weight will the Line-X add? I would be concerned if you were doing the entire hull.

Would sheathing it with HDPE work?

Only thing about line-X I have seen is when used on the undercarriage of 4 wheel drive vehicles like a Jeep, there are places where it can eventually wear down and small places where it wore off. I can think of me going over submerged timber in my jon boat and maybe scuffing it smooth. Ya sucked me in with this thread to trying the Stalker out!

You wouldn’t want to do the whole bottom, just a couple inches below water line while sitting still and up. That where the noise comes from. A gallon of the truck bed coating is probably ten pounds. One gallon would do several boats. I have some from Harbor Freight and it’s really tuff. I wouldn’t mix it up either. All the grit is on the bottom. You’d want it to be smooth so there’s no drag. I’ve thought about doing this as a keel guard. I may do mine. It definitely won’t hurt.

There are some pretty good do-it-yourself bed liner products. Some have no grit until you add it... I used POR brand under truck cab & underside of bed on a old truck I'm restoring.I used a roller to apply 2 thin coats, and laid out really smooth. Used this to be a texture coat,& for sound deadening. Only draw back to some is sunlight degrades them... I think it would work to deaden some noise... Maybe Lizard Skin would be a good product for this too? It's a ceramic based product. Have 1 for sound,& 1 for thermal insulation ... Just food for thought... Let us know how it turns out if you do decide to try something...

My buddy took some kind of expanding foam and filled all the space in his front / back decks, thinking the sound waves would not travel and bounce off the inner walls. It helped a lot but sadly its just the way it is with aluminum boats, you will never get it close to a glass boat.

The lineX guy where I had my bronco done said 1# per square foot. The LineX I pretty grainy. I would think it would hurt the top end.
