    Default Post Livescope

I know the fishfinder companies work months and years ahead in their development of new technologies, releasing just enough new ideas and updated products to keep the public interested and wanting more. Just wondered if any of you guys who stay up on such things have any inkling of what's coming down the pike? It appears that Livescope has taken the fishing industry by storm, but even it will soon fail in comparison to the next new technology to be revealed. I understand that this is the way these companies make money. Just wondering what will be next? Or.....is Humminbird or Lowrance soon to reveal new models that will compete with Garmin? Looks like Garmin is suddenly leading the way.

Humminbird Mega 360 is now in slow release but it will be a game changer for trollers like me on the same scale as LiveScope. It will allow me to search ahead and beside the boat at trolling speeds. If I see a school of fish in cover, I can stop and fish them with LiveScope.

Humminbird is working on something big. This is strictly a hunch on my part but I think it may be a hybrid 360/LiveScope technology for instant but wider coverage.

Just look where fishing electronics were 2 years ago as compared to now. Hold on to your hats for the future.

My experience is companies keep that very close to the vest. I’m really impressed how news doesn’t leak out. Like it or not you probably won’t hear about it until it is announced.

I would say the livescope will do something to reduce the black box or even eliminate it next.

Not sure how it happened but as a kid we didn't have thing's like fish finder's and we still caught fish. I have one now but don't use it very well. All I can figure out is if there might be fish down there and how deep.

Garmin already sells a livescope transducer that needs no black box for some of the bigger units . The one with the box is more expensive but better I hear .Garmin has been in the business a long time and allows Lowrance to sell live view but not as good as a livescope from what I have seen.

True. Lowrance Live view is basically garmins panoptix. Garmin won't be sharing livescope for some time.

It does not matter to me what they develop next. I have so much invested in LiveScope and Solix that I will be using the units I bought last year for years to come. It was just this past year that I give up my HB 999 unit for the new tech.

Up next is trained Sea Monkeys to find fish, come back to the boat, grab your jig and go put the hook in the fishes mouth. You heard it here first.
