Put some brush on this side of the shallow area.
For years my wife and I have fished the same slough off the river as you go through the slough for about a mile it opens into a crappie heaven lol but the mouth of the Clough has silted in and I have had to get out and pull our 17ft Bass tracker across it dang bear every time we go ...is there any way other than just get a shovel and go to digging is there any way to make this deep enough for us to easily pass through without having to get out of boat bc dead of summer is fine but it really sucks this time of year

Blow a hole in it with explosives or drag something heavy through there with the outboard running. Might take 4-5 passes but 8-10 foot wide should let the boat float through.

Find somebody with the license to blast a ditch ?
. My dad had a similar spot he walked into.
The river flooded and filled in his crappie hole. It happens.

I have thought about getting explosives but those aren't really easily to get legally lol

Same thing has happened to one of my favorite crappie creeks. Think I’m going to just have to find another spot

The dang terrorists really messed up buying dynamite.
The outboard will move silt, but it will take several passes. A mud anchor dropped on the river side is good. Use just enough throttle to make a muddy stream toward the river, and use back and forth steering to widen the ditch.
Keep an eye on the water pump indicator discharge (peehole.) That fine grit can play the devil with the impeller. First hand experience with that.
The Corps of Engineers will likely get it removed using a clam shell bucket on a dragline, if you live long enough to see it.

I’ve seen folks open up the space under where the boat sits in a boathouse. Tied off to both sides from the rear cleats and started moving water, the sand and dirt went with it. Held more fish too.

Only problem is the mouth to the river is good it's the mouth into the lake the transition from slough to lake is silted off
