Default Tackle - Usable Inventory and Storage Solution ???

I don't know if its possible but I think I've got to much tackle; a lot of redundancy, multiple stuff stored in multiple places, big bags little bags, hard boxes soft boxes and even the wife's lock-lock containers. I need a better user friendly tackle system, my boat is kept at a marina so leaving tackle on the boat won't work and I don't like carrying around a 25 lb. bag but it never fails that when on the water I think of something back at home that I wished I had with me. It is a bit of a silly problem to have but a problem just the same.

What do you folks use for your tackle storage and most importantly are you satisfied with it? I seen this RigRap system looks interesting but don't know if it would solve my issues or just become another bag added to the mix.

If you would please share your thoughts and suggestion regarding tackle Inventory and Storage Solutions.

    This ^^^^

I'm not sure where I read it, but someone said, "The container is the clutter." I agree and have been trying to cut back on what I store/carry.

For actual fishing, I usually wear a light fly vest. The pockets have plenty of room for small Plano boxes, bags of plastics, and snacks. Everything is to hand, so I don't have to bend over to grab a box/bag every time I need to change jigs.

For storage at home, I've cut way back. I have a box full of jig heads and a few packages of plastics. I let Walmart store the rest of my gear until I need it.

Tackle and tackle storage is about 99% personal preference, so YMMV.

    My wife's logic:
a fish has only 1 mouth so you need 1 hook. You can only put 1 hook on 1 pole. Don't need a 20 foot boat to carry 1 pole. Don't need a motor faster than our car.

I must be a rare exception for God blessed me with a wife who lets me buy anything i want and actually buys me hunting and fishing gear. I am careful to take tackle and poles for the species I am targeting and very rarely do I switch. I don’t bass fish much but when I do I only take rods and tackle suited for that, same with Crappie and other panfish.

I have tons of stuff too but have started taking less with me each trip. What has helped me the most is taking only hand tie jigs. Put them in one jig box and go. No need for box of hooks, bags of plastics, etc. Also I’m trying to keep all tackle in 3600 size boxes and then just switch out with how I plan to fish.

    I have this bag, Plano m series. Holds 9 3600 boxes, $39.95.

I have it setup for crappie, bass, and sauger. When I change species, just reload the bag with the appropriate boxes.
