Default Dang Weather Screwed My Plans

Heading to Reelfoot lake tomorrow morning at 0200. Taking combat injured warriors duck hunting, but while they are hunting I am fishing Reelfoot lake. The weather is going to be nice on Weds so I will get some good fishing in, but Thursday and Friday is going to be bad, high winds and a lot of rain. The really sad part is Friday I was going to Lake Sartis in MS to fish. Not sure if I can deal with 15 MPH winds so I guess I will just drive home. Dang wind and rain! GRRRRRRR :-)

It's especially difficult this time of the year when it seems like it's front after front either moving in or moving out... and it seems like one is stacked up behind the next. Sorry for your inconvenience and your disappointment in the conditions. There's no doubt that weather, including high wind conditions, is the major unknown when making any sort of long range fishing plans... and I know I can recall countless times when I felt the same disappointment that you are. At least these days we have the luxury of better and longer range weather predictions than our fathers and forefathers did. I have heard many old timers say that back in the day they never knew about such things as frontal systems, approaching severe storms and even monster hurricanes until it was already on top of them and hundreds or even thousands of lives were lost due to getting caught and not having enough time to prepare and/or evacuate.

Hopefully things will take a turn for the better for you weather-wise.

You are correct, I was just in the mood to gripe, LOL It seems that every year we go there to duck hunt in January it is hot until the day we leave, then they get ice and snow. haha. It is a fun time for my guys. I am just ready to fish somewhere that I do not normally fish. It will be good. Will post some pics when I get back. I can't remember the name of the guy that I am fishing with but apparently he won the American Crappie tournament or one of those big ones. My friend lined him up for me. Something Hughes.
