Don’t like em directly on the mainline most crappie feed up and I feel the direction they come from could cause there mouth to hit the line first and miss the hook
I’m working on a new design for a double minnow rig to try and minimize tangles. One possibility involves a standout hook but I have concerns about it. It seems to me that a crappie would be able to feel the line and the tie end of the hook a little easier due to the way they are rigged. What’s y’all’s experience or opinion on standout hooks rigged with minnows?

I tie a 2 number 2 Aberdeen hooks on loop knots about a foot apart. Sinker a foot below bottom hook. This rig almost never tangles or fouls. And when the hooks snag they can generally be bounced loose since the weight is on bottom. Just my preference
