take an old truck floor mat and cut it to the shape of mounting plate and put between deck and trolling motor
Got tired of working on the foot control on my old motorguide that came with my tracker so I am now mounting a new to me Minn Kota Edge. The old motor was held on by the blind rubber 1/4" isolators that really haven't given trouble in 20 some odd years of use. I know a lot of folks don't like the rubber isolators and use snap toggles in the blind holes. I would like to use the toggles but am worried that a tight connection to the boat would transmit noise through the hull. any pros/cons here?

I used two rubber sheets about 1/2 inch ,one is screwed to the boat , with bolts facing up through it to bolt to the upper sheet which is bolted to the trolling motor. No direct contact from trolling motor to boat . This works for me.
