I prefer to solder....liquid tape....then heat shrink
I have spent most my life fishing........the rest I wasted.

My vote is always solder and heat shrink. I only use wire nuts for residential stuff.

Wire nuts are for solid wire.
I prefer these. Crimp and shrink with a heat gun, faster than soldering.

And run a ground wire to each light instead of using the trailer for ground.
I go the solder on anything I can get to on boat and trailer

Solder and heat shrink 100 times out of 100 and completely agree with the above poster about running a continual ground to every light.
Look above for your info.
Solder, liquid tape and then shrink wrap for durability. Every crimp connector I’ve used get a crease or hole punched during the crimp and I wind up using liquid tape anyway. I soldered all the connection on my previous boat trailer, including marker lights, and 8 years later they all still worked. Salt water is worse so I have to redo my current trailer when I install my sealed LEDs. Not fun but done right it lasts a long time.
