    Default Tis the season

4 old men, 4 jigging fools and some crappie in a few trees .
versions of pearl got the job done and the fish were overly cooperative .
the slip owner was rather generous to put up with us and or I should say me .
started first drop and got better and better and better till the basket tried to runneth over .
a couple of hours of fish slinging sure enough fixed my no KABOOM program .
one spot in particular held just an obscene number of fish and whoever put a jig in there was on it for sure .
but several spots in those slips were quite good and we had a us a great time best I can tell ya .
thanks to my work for letting me off a bit early , thanks to Ez for a nice quiet spot to hammer fish, thanks to god for letting us all hit it together once again and a BIG thank you to the fish that pulled like freight trains no matter the sizes involved .
got my line broke a few times and lost one real nice one on a rope .
but for the most part it was a real nice winter crappie festival
some of the fish were suspended about 6 foot down in 14 foot of water
and some were a foot off the bottom in water 8 to maybe 15 foot deep .
they were all over the brush put under the slips .
    good times for sure

Great job out there! Wish we had docks with crappie on them like that.

It was a fun time, catching with good friends. It was nice to find the crappie there again, in the previous week I had thought small bass had taken over the slips, based on what I had been catching.

But speak for yourself when you talk about old men. I may be elderly but never old, as the state of mind is what counts.

This afternoon was not as good as yesterday. Fewer fish, very few keepers, none over 11". So you timed it right with your visit.

sometimes I get lucky in the order of things , it will reload I hope , somedays are all that and the next one aint in the world of crappie .
I thought Jeffrey was kidding when he said they wasn't biting well ,but the look in his eye when I said are you kidding me and "BARELY" got that basket out of the water and up on the dock , told me it wasn't no fooling around
lot of times folks who ketch crappie might not tell the whole truth from what I seen in the past if you get my drift

It will definately reload. It is only going to get better over the next few months. I'm sure you can remember what that dock was like last year.
