Prayers sent for continued good news and complete recovery. Buckeye, if you don't mind me asking, did you injure your arm in an accident? I'm curious because I had a bicep tendon repair several years ago and also had carpal tunnel surgery on both wrists at the same time(I don't recommend this). I have nerve damage in two fingers but I also have limited use and pain in the arm where the bicep tendon was reattached.

    Continued prayers for your healing.
I had thumb joint replacement surgery a year ago nothing as severe a surgery as you just had and hand is still not a 100% of what it was before surgery but no pain now so keep it elevated and after wearing a cast for 8 weeks rehab is a must because of not being able to use that arm and hand that takes time to recover from surgery.
Again praying for speedy recovery and take care.

@ Glenn. I worked with parachutes and skydiving rigs for 27+ years which is extremely hard on the hands, arms and wrists. I too ruptured my right bicep tendon and had it reattached to my right radius bone with two screws in 2010.

I had left wrist surgery in 2017 in an attempt to repair a tear n that wrist. At the same time I had the ulnar nerve transposed to relieve the entrapment in order to return/enhance sensation in my ring and pinkie fingers.

The damage to my hand and wrist bones bones are due to hard intense work with my hands, Arthritis, and ulna bones that are too long. I am facing the same ulna shortening surgery in my left arm now and whatever else the surgeon feels is necessary to alleviate pain and restore some functionality. In 2 weeks I see him again and we will discuss the next step for the arm I just had worked on. He may have to fuse the wrist and has mentioned additional surgery on the wrist itself.

If if you have additional questions don’t hesitate yo ask.

    Merry Christmas all.

Prayers sent. My good fishing buddy had wrist and arm surgery last year. Last week, we were catching lots of crappie, when his phone rang. He shifted his rod to the left (weak) hand, and dropped his rod in the water. We tried for over an hour to retrieve it, but no good. Merry Christmas.

Sounds like they are putting you though the ringer. I hope everything turns out good and the pain is eliminated. Keep us posted.

UPDATE: Surgeon removed the cast Tuesday but the bone hasn’t healed completely so I am in a hard splint for 6 more weeks. Wrist is frozen in place as the tendons and ligaments have tightened up. I can lift up to ten lbs now which is a blessing. All is healing according to plan, all y’all’s prayers have helped and a big thanks to all.c
