Good report and pics. Sounds like a wonderful fishing trip. KABOOM my friend!
Yes sir ladies and gents that is how many private boat slips my friend and I had ALL to ourselves yesterday !
It was like a crappie dock ketchn fellas dream come true I tell ya . Not a soul there except us and crappie in every darn boat slip and they was the good ole large slab version types .
I got there at 9 and left at noon and didn't keep any fish . The bite was on when I got there and they were still on when I left .
Now mind you I couldn't possibly hit all them slips as I aint that fast no more at 62 , but I did make it up to 586 …..
All funning around it was a mighty fine home coming to lake I have not visited in around 40 years . I used to just about live on that lake in my late teens and early twenties and once again she reminded me of what a fabulous fishery she was and still is .
The fish were around 16 to 18 foot deep in water depths ranging from around a little over 20 foot deep out to about 30 foot deep . Most of the fish preferred the standard winter dead stick and the majority hit it like they meant it .
We easily managed well over a hundred crappie and I got my line broke twice .I used lots of different baits and the ribbon tail firecracker one on a pink 1/32 was by far the most productive of the 8 or 10 different styles and colors I dropped .
I released my fish and he kept about 15 and it was a super pretty mild weather day . I hope to visit there soon again but to be sure the traffic is a bear going over there through the dfw metromess , none the less it was worth 2 hours of drive to ketch for 3 hours for sure.
Thanks my friend for the invite and hope to visit you again soon if possible .
On a side note I want to apologize to EZ for two timing him as I didn't get to go Wednesday due to a work load that's unimaginable and actually had to use the I have an appointment in the morning excuse at work and I wont be in until after lunch to get some time to ease my pain of not ketchn enough crappie lately
and in the end …….

Any day I'm fishing is a good day, regardless of what I catch.
