Default The Water Got Hard /Pics

Well i got done with open water about 10 days ago. Some folks have asked for some pics from the hard side. Well today the water is hard. Went along and i do not recall ever in my 74 years getting on the ice this early. I had two inches so on i went. I was alone and slowly picked my way out. It was good fishing. I put about 25 top side. Had some 12-14 inch slabs that i sent back. I kept some lesser size ones and some yellows and one lonly small Pike. It was a nice start to what with this global warming will be about five months on the ice. Name: 120_0965.jpg

I would be too scared to go out on 2” of ice! Only time I was ever ice fishing the ice was 3’ thick!

Nothing wrong with getting into some jumbo perch, they taste like a cross between my 2 favorite fresh water species Walleye & Crappie, thanks for sharing..you've taken my taste buds back to some fond memories...

Great bunch of fish! I never became interested in ice fishing, but if you can catch crappie like that, I just might have to give it a whirl. That is on a sunny, warm, calm wind day!
