I fish, play golf and occasionally hunt. Back in my younger working days I braved whatever elements Mother Nature threw at me to pursue my hobbies. My rain suits had to stand up to that and keep me dry.
I found some Frog Toggs on sale recently and purchased two sets since they were neatly packed in small cases.
One went in my boat and one in my golf bag.
A buddy saw them and asked me how well I thought they worked.
    My shamelessly honest answer?
"It only has to keep me dry long enough to reach my car!"
So that might need to be considered when an old poot offers an opinion.
    That’s spot on!

American Legacy has a sale on Gill jacket and bibs 50% off. I haven't used Gill rain gear but a buddy loves them.

Used the H2O for about two years with no issues. But, was out of state fishing and got caught is a five hour rain which was heavier than I would typically fish in ... I got soaked! As some have said, maybe keeping them treated might make the difference but cold and wet punched my ticket that day. Ended up sick for two weeks and finally said the heck with it! After hours and hours of research I waited for a good Cabela’s sale and sprung for the Guide Wear suit. Just fished three days in the rain while in Canada no a walleye trip, not one leak. I have fished maybe 10 days now in wet conditions and have never been happier with a rain suit. Yep, $600 is a ton to pay for rain gear! But if sick days come in play, figure the cost of a couple suits over time ... buy once, buy well and be done.

just my $.02 based on personal experience.

Nothing can stop the rain/snow from running down the arms when your casting.
Nothing can stop the rain from running down the back of your neck, unless you wear a complete head cover and then you cant see or hear squat.
the best solution is to not go when its raining. IF you must, dress to be warm even when wet and buy just about anything for rain gear.
I prefer a poncho on warm days. but I frequently fish in sub 50 degree days. I prefer bibs and 3/4 length coat, wide brimmed hat, and water proof knee high boots. IF I need something to stop 100mph winds, I'm going to the bar.

Quick, someone teach me how to fish so I can win this tournament!!!
