I've been that guy before. I've fished minnows on floats in tree tops and had guys pass by casting and catching a few here and there. But they never offered any help or advice is the difference here. Back then I wasn't set up to fish that way anyhow. If he comes back again, break the ice. Offer him a PB&J. I know I wouldn't turn that down.

like someone said earlier, he might have been hard of hearing......I have 20% in left ear and 50 in right and take my hearing aids out when in the boat...I would have ask what you were doing. sounds more like hardheaded...
living life to its fullest, This is not a dressed rehearsal.
it might be a combination of the things , I do know some folks that just wont ask no matter what or take advice either .
but I also know some that have hearing issues too . then there are some that have listening issues as well .
I imagine if he stayed busy at the lake like he was doing he ended up getting into them at some point .
when I went to the north end of the lake later the bite up that way was better than the south end where I saw him .
of course some times there are those days when even if you do everything the other fella is doing the darn crappie still wont cooperate .
been there and done that many a times myself
sum kawl me tha outlaw ketchn whales
I agree with everybody else, if you had hollered at me with advice, I would have been over there asking for more. Heck, I probably would have beached the boat and fished with you if you would let me. I still got too much to learn.

I like to talk to people. Much like ketch, I'll offer advise and try to help a fellar out, even more so if they got kid(s) with em trying to catch fish.
I've encountered others at ramps and passersby that won't hardly speak much less have a friendly chat.
To each his own.
