This is SLAB, I copied tnbirdhunters post (below) on the KY forum. See here: https://www.crappie.com/crappie/main...g/#post3908298
"Cane Pole" Mr. Tom did a great job demonstrating his line removing and winding machine. I was impressed by the accuracy of amount of line that can be installed on reels. He stated that Ed "Slab" would be putting an article out on Crappie.com for input and comment soon.Attachment 358989Attachment 358990Attachment 358991

Thanks Rickie.
Electric winders in the marketplace are expensive. They range from from 500 to 5000 dollars and more. Here is a link to one that is ran by a drill.
My spooler does more and hopefully lots cheaper and flexable.

The wooden spool holder ain't part of the gadget, ONLY the white looking rig. Anybody can make a spool holder. Mine is made with left over deck wood. I jazzed it up a little. 1/2 thread 6 inch carriage bolt, flat washers, 1/2 inch nut, spring from Brenda's BnD eletric autofeed weedeater for line tension setting. Also has some magnets to hold tools. Magnetics helps my dementia. Rewinder spool is made from pool noodle. The noodle was next to me holding some jigs. AHHA!!!

I copied some posts (see above) from the KY forum. Our resident NASA engineer, Cane Pole, put together a Line Winder, and demonstrated it at the KY Camp. We have an idea for Shuorc to put some of these together and sell them here on Crappie.com and was wondering what the demand would be. Cane Pole does not want to make them, but Shu volunteered to put them together using Cane Poles secret plans! Shu was a radio technician in the military and has great experience with putting electronics together, and is very mechanically orientated as well. He's helped me on many of my own projects.
Anyway, please provide some feedback, and let us know if anyone is interested in a possible pre-order.
wannabe fisherman LIKED above postcrp4570 thanked you for this post
I am interested....I already have a spool holder

We have 2 models of the winder. A basic model and a line counter model. Using the basic model, the user uses visual to fill the spool to a desired level. This is easy as pie to do.
The line counter actually counts the number of revolutions it takes to fill the reel to a desired level, then shuts off automatic. Counting revolutions is just as accurate as counting line length. Besides, line counters sometimes skip count on smaller line diameter and automatic line counter spoolers are very expensive.
By counting revolutions, you build your own library with reel type and line size. First time you spool a given reel with a given line size, you just write down the count. All others for that particular reel/line size, you enter the count and push start. The reel will fill and stop at the entered count. Very accurate.
Great looking design
