    Default Trolling Motor Transducer

A buddy bought a new boat and has had a couple of issues with the dealer getting what he wanted installed. He bought a Helix 9 SI for the console but during the test drive realized they installed a Helix 9 Mega DI. They ordered the SI and he said to just put the new DI up front. More $$$! While using the boat he couldn’t get the DI to work. He has a Terrova 55 trolling motor and after research it only has the universal sonar transducer in the head. He went back to dealer today and they admitted they knew DI wouldn’t work and said they had a kit in stock to install the transom mount transducer on the Terrova. Is there a transducer for the trolling motor he should have them swap out with Humminbird to install on the Terrova?

    Thanks for any information!

Yes they have a exchange program but the package the transducer came in must not be opened. You need to call them and set it up. Then send it along with some money and they will ship the right transducer.

HELIX 9 MEGA DI comes with the XM 9 MDI T

The trolling motor version is the XTM 9 MDI T which has different mounting and more internal shielding for possible interference ...

While your dealer may have a kit to adapt the transom xducer for trolling motor application, it's best to use the correct xducer for the correct application ...

Like Cray mentions, if you haven't used the stock xducer HB will exchange it for the trolling motor version ...
