OVER 3 LBS ?

I actually am only totally sure one crappie I managed in the last 5 or 6 years is well over 3 . I don't hit waters that produce many even over 2 and that said this latest fish might just be in the upper 2 range . one thing for certain she was about a bad you know what crappie fish as I have managed for about as long as I can remember when it came down to not wanting a picture taken of her, even spring run fish don't fight like she did I tell ya . man was that some kind of heart pounding fun yawl .
and btw ...I went back yesterday you know juts to see if another one might be there ….

I have seen of fair number of fish like her swim off because of one reason or another my friend .
a few still haunt me as a matter of fact . I will never forget one black I had about a foot from the net when it came unbuttoned on a lake with a few 3 lb plus fish in it . my friend holds the lake record there at just over 3 .
I also remember one large white very well to this day that I thought was a large black bass and that fish caused me to visit that spot the same time and exact same spot for a solid week !
crappie over 2 lbs. are difficult fish in many cases to hold in your hand in these parts .
weight to lip tissue ratios aint good on the big ones for sure

Ketchn I had to laugh when you were describing the way this fish fought...... For sure brought back memories..... Don't for one second think crappie don't have a fight because they do when you catch the right ones.....

he got him a big ole black crappie and it was on the homee page last week , I think it was 17 inches and looked like a male fish to me , got it on his new BnM rod combo he won here on crappie.com

I swear I wont forget her pull brother ,man did she want to be a free bird . she got air a few times as well that I didn't mention and I really don't remember a crappie with more than what she had for tricks in her bag .
she shook her head up on top so many times so violently I was about positive she is gone any second ...heart pounder fish
