Decided I want a jigging rod

I also use a 8'6 fly rod as a jigging pole coupled with a Shimano Sienna 1000 FE spinning reel and I fish it mainly with the crappie magnet (my favorite lure.) I preferred using thicker 10# mono with the fly rod because it has less tendency to wrap around the long fly rod when compared to 4# or 6# mono. I mainly pitch with the fly rod but can cast with it from my kayak.

I do have a fly rod but I've kept it stock. I have jigged with a wet fly before. But I ended up getting a Shakespeare Crappie Hunter 9' light. I like it alot!!

I use a 12ft Berkley Crappie Pro rod most of the time. First appearance it seems flimsy due to the small diameter but the tip is solid carbon fiber. A great rod for only $40 bucks

Oh wow. $40 for carbon fiber, I'm suprised! If I ever need a 12ft rod I know what to look for!
