I would love to own 1 or even 2 $150-$200 reels but my budget is $30 Shimano Sienna 1000 FE spinning reels. The Sienna have handled large catfish, bass, bluegills, & crappies without breaking a sweat and still going strong after two years. To reduce wind knots, I soaked my spools in warm water for at least an hour.
Oh..it even tackled a 3 foot gar too.

Soaking monofilament line in water will get the line to relax and reduce memory.
Yup, just make sure to keep the label out of water 'cause some glues can dissolve and make the line tacky. I usually scrub off the label well, and then write what it is on the spool with a silver Sharpie. Got some 20 lb test soaking now for my striper/catfish rod.
