Take the time and recover. It is only a week. It will pass quickly. Catch up on Crappie.com post. Let it heal correctly the first time that way they dont have to do it again
Next Wed. eye surgery in both eyes to correct lazy eye syndrome has me restricted to light activity meaning no loading the truck-bed boat for maybe more than a week. Even with prisms in both lenses I see double when the eyes tire in the evening and is getting gradually worse. Guess I'll be in the workshop coming up with new lure/ composite designs though no one said I couldn't fish from shore. Better have a light drag set in case a big'n hits.
The next thing vision related I have to look forward to in a few years is cataract surgery.
It's tuff getting old....

The love for fishing is one of the best gifts you can pass along
Sound advice which I'm sure I'll hear over and over from the doc and the woman in the next three weeks.
Good luck, DSJack has some wise words

Update:
Had the surgery today in both eye muscles and it's the first time I can see clearly - and with both eyes focusing on the same thing - in 20 YEARS!!! No more distance or reading with double-vision in the evening when the eye muscles tire. The operation took less than an hour for both eyes and I could see great immediately in post-op!
(For those that might suffer the same symptom or know someone - even a child - that displays it, here is some background:
Strabismus, more commonly known as cross-eyed, is a vision condition in which a person can not align both eyes simultaneously under normal conditions. One or both of the eyes may turn in, out, up or down. Corrective lenses with prisms for one or both lenses can help, but eventually a distorted or double vision occurs making eye-muscle surgery the only action to realign the eyes.
Distance and close up vision are now as perfect as they were before the symptoms first appeared in 1999. The glasses I now have don't have prisms - which make the outer lense edges much thicker and at one point can't fully correct strabismus resulting in watching TV, driving or reading with only one eye open. It's even much harder to put line in the eye of a hook.
The eyes like the gums are the fastest tissue to heal. I have very little discomfort tonight and will sleep fine - or not - but not because of the surgery. Special eye drops and no heavy lifting or straining (even from constipation) must be avoided for one week due to stitches and are the only conditions that must be strictly met.
My niece had the operation when she was 12 years old and has had normal vision for 24 years.
