Default Powerbait for trout inserted in tube jig

I know this has been discussed, but I couldn't find any follow up reports. I know trout powerbait floats, but can it be used to catch crappie by inserting it in a tube instead of crappie nibbles?

Reason I ask is because I found garlic trout powerbait dough in a natural green color on sale for $1 / jar. I thought about using it to inject tubes since it has a very strong garlic scent and since color won't matter, it may work.

Does it make a difference if the powerbait is marketed for trout or for crappie in order to catch crappie? Thanks in advance!

IMHO .... no, it won't make any difference whether it's marketed for Trout, Bass, or Crappie. It's still garlic scented, regardless of brand or color or pellet form or paste.

If I can catch Trout on a mashed up wad of Crappie Nibbles, which I have done, then I see no reason why you can't catch Crappie on scented paste for Trout.

Crappie can't read well enough to see that the container says trout. . As long as they will respond to garlic scent it shouldn't matter. Most likely made from the same ingredients
