Default Be careful who you share info with re small waters

A few days ago I saw a woman casting from shore and she asked what I was using to catch 16 fish. I not only told her but gave her advice what to use and some of my lures with light jigs. She was using large Senko type lures for bass. Getting up there in age, I'm more trusting than not and something should have alerted me that this angler was not what she claimed - a beginner.

First off she had a bag well stocked with bass lures and other tackle - not something a beginner would have in tow. Second, she used braid and mono on her spinning reels and poles that were the right action and length. Third, she said she caught two bass from shore which translated to her knowing how to use soft sticks, detect strikes and a hard hook set.

She was nice enough to share info about another lake but was wrong about car top boat access - there wasn't any according to a park employee I called.

Now, being that she doesn't have a car top boat or kayak to fish from (to my knowledge), she's at a big disadvantage fishing this small lake. Problem is that she could share the information given including light finesse lures that do very well anywhere and especially on this lake.

I hope I'm wrong sharing info with someone that's possibly not what she claimed to be and especially telling her to search for my name and informative posts on Crappie.com. If not wrong, I've got to keep my mouth shut and keep the conversation non-informative when it comes to small waters. I have another long time buddy that fishes another water we both fish that I can count on to keep our shared information between us and is always forthcoming with his discoveries. Not the case in this example.

Good we don't need anybody catching our fish.

Crappie bite twice a day. 15 minutes before I get there and 10 minutes after I leave.

Yes, that would be tragic. Imagine the gall of this woman to share information with other people.

Unfortunately, I don’t think I understand the infraction committed.
