braid is often lauded to be the answer to a crappie persons dreams ,I am here to tell you not so , it is in fact the enemy as far as I am concerned , the same thing it does in the wind it does in the water …...ketches wind and current like a sail ...not good
use a good 6 lb mono in clear , I would tell you try Zebco Omniflex and maybe double rig 1/32 if you have to go really deep .
that said 1/16 deep on 6 mono is typically ok if there isn't to much wind or current . sometimes wind and current are your friends btw
to drift a bait with the current or wind direction over a crappie's location slowly is a deadly presentation ….
especially if there is good water clarity as it gives them less time to think about it and look it over ….my 2 cents

The atmosphere here is clear and bright and it tends to get folks to want to put in their 2 cents without fear of the ever present key board commando crew that abounds on the internet and their you know what sideways comments .
Crappie.com is a breath of fresh air in a smoke filled room as forums go for sure

When I first saw them I thought grass/ghost shrimp. Those are really good looking baits.
