    Default Pin Min

Anyone using these for crappie, perch, or gills, and if so, where do you buy them? Seems a bit hard to find for a decent price.

Use them for ice fishing. Most tackle shops have them here in ice season. Great lure for panfish.

I was taught how to make them about 35 years ago by Jack Manda from Manda's baits in Akron Ohio. They are fun and easy to make and they are deadly on Bluegill when tipped with a wax worm. Attached is a video on how I make mine. I no longer sell them but you can make yourself a couple of dozen in about an hour. They are great for ice fishing and also fresh water. You make them with either a size #10, #8 or a #6 GOLD hook. Do not use bronze hooks. You can get the shells and solder from Janns Netcraft in Maumee Ohio. Here is a link my friend.

I started to fool around with pin mins 65 years ago at the age of mine but did not master them until I was 19. I am 74 now. Just be careful with the soldering iron. It will leave a nasty burn if you are not careful. I sold my first ones to others when I got really good with them.

That's a great project for me. I'm fairly handy and usually looking for things to do , especially during the winter months. I sure appreciate the information !
Ketchn....I will stay tuned, for sure. Nano Fry Jig, you say? I'll be taking copious notes.
