Wow!looks like someone struck a nerve with ezgoing, nobody has said that the decision to invest in expensive gear was wrong, the original post was asking for people's opinions. Which mind you we all have and none are the correct opinion all the time. Just saying

I'm partially responsible - I was stomping on ant hills and I'm a hypocrite as I have spent $420 on a Garmin 7sv which I really like for the money spent. However early Friday morning I plan on shore fishing several new areas and eventually may hit these areas in my boat. Will post pics in a day or 2 if I catch anything over 7" long. [QUOTE=brettw;3890091]Here's what i think a livescope would do for me. Perhaps I'm restating my original question.
I want to know if the fish are following my jigs and rejecting it. Or not interested at all.
If i need to change colors/size.
    If its time to leave.
I think it would save me a lot of time and i think it could make me a better fishermen.
    Hold it still?

    Add motion?
    Let it fall?

Brett I’m about an hour north east of ya up on lake tillery, I have the 1022 and the lvs32 transducer, if you wanna see it for yourself then come on up one day, I’ll say this it will hurt your feeling by showing you all your not catching, I can see my jig and my wieght above the jig when tightlining, I’m happy with my screen size, I got mine as a combo from russel marine,

Fyi, one thing you rarely hear anyone say though is that the unit and the black box requires a minimum of 12 volts to operate properly which requires a lot and I mean a lot of guys to have to run a bigger gauge separate wires from the battery to the bow

I want to know if the fish are following my jigs and rejecting it. Or not interested at all. Yes even with the 93v + unit you can see if they are investigating your jig and rejecting it.

If i need to change colors/size. You can tell they are rejecting what you are offering. Whether you need to change size, color or method of presentation is something you need to decide. Sometimes just adding a crappie nibble to the jig can induce strikes.

If its time to leave. Your decision. You can see there are fish are there and they are not biting what you are offering. Whether it's time to leave or keep trying different things is something you must decide.

I think it would save me a lot of time and i think it could make me a better fishermen. It can definitely save time when you don't fish spots that do not contain fish.

    Hold it still?
    Add motion?
You will definitely be able to see the results of each of these actions.
    Let it fall?

It is nice to have and I enjoy my unit. But you don't need it to be a good crappie fisherman, just as you don't need a boat or other equipment.I sold my boat before moving back to Texas as I didn't want the hassle of moving it. My wife and I fished at a local fish barge before we bought another boat. The lack of a boat and other equipment did not prevent us from enjoying crappie fishing.

    Looks like a good unit.
    Years ago i bought a lowrance hds9, hummingbird 998 and a Garmin?
    All at the same time.
Kept the lowrance hds . Only one with excellent down imaging.
    Still have it.
    Likely switching Garmin

    Thanks

1042 resolution is good enough for your setup?
Any thoughts on getting the 12 inch?

    Thanks
