Default Pretty Good Day On The Water

My neighbor and I had a pretty good day today. We fished the spots where we have fished together before. But the fish seem to be on the move here now. We caught some nice white crappies where we have caught blacks before, and the whites were larger. Around 14 - 15 inches. Temps here continue in the mid 90’s and we are dry as a bone. But it is supposed to cool off a degree or 2 next week and a chance of a shower. One unusual thing today was that I caught an alligator gar about 3 or 3 1/2 feet long. I have caught larger, but this was on a 1/16 oz Chartreuse jig head and a pearl Fish Stalker plastic body.

I now have 2 new packs of crappie filets in the freezer and the far is still swimming except that it has some new jewelry in its bill.

Ketchn, we fished from 7 am until 11. Too hot on the water after that. High was about 94 yesterday. At 1 am this morning it was still 78 degrees.

Great day out and fillets to boot. Doesn’t get much better.
