    Default Finally Went

Got Momma off and back on the road Monday after she took almost a week off. She sure kept me busy around here with projects she wanted done, but must say she hung right thier and helped as much as she could.
So I took off and went to a local lake that is a water shed lake here and allows NO boats, or swimming period. Water is pretty clear. There is a bridge that at one time was a single lane that has been blocked of with pipes on each end and allows fishing from it. I tried som plastic bodied jigs next to some pilons with out any luck. after about an hour of nothing I moved a bit and tried again. About that time a gentleman named Rick was fixing to leave, he and another man was fishing on down the bidge from me, and he stopped by and we chatted a bit. He asked what was in the bottle I was putting on the jigs and I told him it was Slab Sauce. He asked if it worked, and I told him if thier were fish in the area, I usually got some. He asked were to get it, And I said I got mine from Crappie.com But it was available, last I checked from a couple other places on line also. Put the invite out thier for him to check out the site, and told him about us. He said he definately would.
He is, I found out from the chat, a regular thier at the bridge. He gave me some info on the fishing, and I thanked him. He gave me a tube jig, A red, black with white tenical one and said it produced thier pretty good. Also told me where I could get more of them and what they were running for a package. I thought that very nice and offered up some hand ties I had in my box and he liked them very much.
I tried that jig as I wasen't having much luck with what I had with me, and got two small crappie with it. Didn't get nothing else in the short time I was thier of about 3 hrs total. I released the small 8 inch fish back into the water to grow up. I really enjoyed the time out, the comradery with Rick, and even the little short fish I was provided with on this day.
Got a couple more things to do around around the house, and someone coming over to the house on Saturday to put a coating on the roof, Mobile home, for me. Maybe if he don't take all day up thier I'll get back out thier then. Thanks for reading. Eric Oh yea, I'll post some pic's as soon as I get them transfered to the computer...

Ultralightrooki, I'll have to agree, they in a cooler spot some where. By 10:00 it was hot almost 95 deg already. Bright blue bird skies, so I came back to the house and cooled off a bit and started some more things here. Hopefully I'll get some stuff done enough and get back out again...Soon.

trypman1, thats why I went in the morning. I didn't get started as early as I would have liked, but figured by 10:00 it would be time to go, unless of coarse the fish were biting good. I gave it an extra 30 min. and left around 10:30.
DSJ, I said heck with everything and just went anyway. Momma would have prefered I stayed home and worked on her infamous "Koney Do" list...LOL. Sometimes we just need a break with mother nature...

you might try to pendulum cast up under the bridge midday , I do it on several spots I hit and it is tricky but more often than not your line is likely to lay up before it gets real tight after the pitch from what I have seen .

Thank you ketchn, Yep I tried a couple times but it always ended up straight down. I would swing it under pretty hard let it drop a bit and slow wind it back. might have been too slow on the retrieve. But for sure not giving up. Tried a small sporting goods store, like a mom and pops place and found one of the jig bodies Rick had given me. They turned out to be Crappie pros lil' hustlers in red, black and white. a nibble on the hook then started with the vertical casting crappie pappy had wrote about. Once I had a strike I used the tab on the side of the spool to lock the line in so it would always go to that depth, then slowly move the jig. I tried SK's method of holding it still, but nothing. Moved it a bit and I surely thought a slab had hit. Pulled it up and it was a small 8"er with the whole jig in it's mouth. No keepers, but it sure was enjoyable for sure...going back here in a bit.
Hopefully more pictures to come...Even if the fish are small...
