I think 6 pound Berkeley Vanish is the best line for crapping fishing. Most 2-8 pound test monofilament lines will work. Here is an article I wrote on the best monofilament fishing lines. If you have a bass rod with 20 pound braid you can just add a 5 foot 4-6 pound fluorocarbon leader and use that as a crappie setup. This way you do not need different gear for crappie and bass.

That was a really good article. Line I use most is usually inexpensive. Favorite to date is Ande. Least expensive without getting into line is a cheap looking package. I like Berkley and Stren also. If I run into a no name inexpensive line in a nice package, I'll tend to try it. Seem's to me if their willing to work on packaging they probably worked on what's in it. I've tried braid and even have some on a Sturgeon reel but mostly I don't like it.

You got anymore atricle's? Been fishing close to 70 yrs and haven't learned a thing!

60# trilene big game. I'm not losing an 8 inch crappie to some weak line.

Exactly. I have the same philosophy when hunting mosquitoes.
