one lake here in dfw has a motor restriction and I hear tell as long as you don't start your big motor on it you can use your boat on it , trolling motor only .
I know of one other that has a 10 maximum on it as well and some are no wake lakes too .
I particularly like the no recreational boaters/ jet skis lakes myself and we have one of them as well .

Yup I fish on the city lake a lot and they have a 15 hp limit. Love the fact I don’t have to deal with the big crazy boats. I don’t mind those with common sense but as we all know a bunch don’t have any.

I've heard of people doing this at Catoma. But also heard you can't do that at the Duck. They claim it "will tempt people to run the bigger motors illegally". I find that hard to believe they would actually ticket someone for that. I see it more as a scare tactic. I imagine they are worried people will see big bass boats out there trolling and assume they are running the outboard and think that maybe they are letting it slide and then things will escalate from there. I'm not sure why that would be a huge deal though as I'm sure they would welcome the ticket revenue lol.... The west side launch could sure use a dock.

I like that too. The negative though is that an underpowered aluminum boat causes 5x the wake as a 20 ft glass boat going by at 70 mph would throw lol.

I was fishing ours Friday morning in the upper end which is not wide at all and where what I would consider still the river vs lake. Couple of guys went by in a really nice, new 16/17 ft bass tracker with a console and 25hp Merc 4-stroke. They were borderline on plane but were not going fast at all and putting out a crazy rolling wake, much larger than would have been if they had zoomed by if that boat had a 50 or 60 on it.

My brother and nephew live outside Atlanta and one of their lakes close by, Stone Mountain I believe, has the remove the prop rule also. They added a kicker motor mount and use a 9.9 on it when they go. Also see all electric boats on trailers there, and there are electric only tournaments, some that no outboards allowed on the boat. One that went by me when I was in the truck had no less than 6 batteries and two large electric motors on the transom, and another on the nose. Fishing must be good on those lakes to warrant a pile of nickels that big just to fish em.
