Shakespear, founded by William Shakespear, Jr. Kalamazoo, MI. 483,000 kids fishing kits were recalled in 2005 due to containing lead. OK, "G", where's my prize? I'll share with ichabod!

I looked it up. By the time I was old enough to fish those were already collectables. I know G used them new out of the Box.

    some of you got it
But here is another hint for the rest of ya..... They started making reels in the late 1930's....and in 1939 they invented the "Backlash" brake.
I will give the answer after awhile.

OK.... Here is the answer.... The Shakespeare Company
Founded in 1897....The first lure was the Revolution made out of wood and then later on out of aluminum. Later on Shakespeare made some rubber lures, the Sure Lure and the Evolution. They got into reels and the Shakespeare Wondereel was one of the first ones. Pure Fishing owns the Shakespeare brand today.
I hope you enjoyed todays Monday Morning Fishing Trivia........stay tuned for next Monday morning.

I'm starting to think that Michigan is the birthplace of American fishing.

    I'll go with Shakespeare
The older I get the more I realize the therapeutic benefits of fishing
