Great read Ketchen. Great Pics too...Thank you for taking us along again on a great adventure.
This is who we are , this is who they are as well
At 100 or more degrees outside with an index of 105 or more its time to find shade .
I suspected the elusive fish that we lost 2 months ago at the lake we were on might have went to a spot I have not hit in 5 years . So I prodded my friend into a boat ride of about 30 minutes to leave the crowds behind and go to a bridge where we could sit in the shade and probably ketch crappie pretty well .
Sure enough in waters not all that deep there they were hanging around the bridge crossties about 10 foot down in waters 16 to 20 foot deep .Had us a good time in the shade for 2 hours or so and hit the dusty trail back to camp on the far end of the lake from where we went to play before the sun faded into the west .
It was a fiasco at times in the wind trying to tie up to the bridge columns and there was a good amount of laughs trying to navigate with the trolling motor with me as the far less than ok pilot of said contraption .
but as it often happens we settled into a pretty good sling festival and managed to ketch a good number of crappie and a couple of bass and 2 catfish as well .now mind you we only had jigs and to be sure I bet it would have been extra silly with live bait but it aint how we roll .
So that's the story and I am sticking to it ...thanks so much for the boat ride Ez and to be sure we will return to that spot soon with ice and a chest and keep fish instead of letting them all swim on like we did this visit

Great post, Love the pics and jigs!
Keep slinging em in Outlaw! Going to hit a couple lakes next few days and go to Crankfest on Mark twain to get back to feeling that thump! surely will include bridge pier dunking too.
Looks like fun...... Wish I didn't have to work....... Nice catches.....
Love the story! What size are those jig heads anyway? They look very large (1/4 ox...3/8 oz.?)!
