    Default What. A. Day.

I have to share my fishing story from today.

I had the day off from work so I went below Keystone Dam and got soaked to the bone in the rain but caught a good size channel catfish.

I decide to try a pond I've never been to before north of downtown Tulsa. Not the best idea, I know. But I fished and ended up snagging this teeny little baby catfish with a bass lure.

Now for the best part. I'm on the other side of the pond and get a snag. I start pulling it to shore because it's not attached and as it got closer to shore so I could get my lure back it starts looking odd. I get it to the bank and pull it up and it's a LEG! A human leg!!!! Well as far as I could tell, It had a boot and pants and the size and shape of a leg. So I'm shook. I've been to war and seen some stuff similar but it got to me. I called Tulsa police and they came out. They said yeah it looks like you caught a human leg. Then there appears to be a torso close by in the water so they ask me to hook it and drag it in. One perfect cast later and the torso is on the bank. They cut the clothing off and.......... it turns out it was a very elaborate prank by some people. But the cops were like they looked legit and real you did the right thing calling.

I'm glad I found it and not some kid who could be traumatized for life seeing something like that and not getting the answer that it was fake.

    So yeah, long post over!

Years ago in Memphis my wife and I went for a walk down the road from our house. Only farm land around that area. We saw a body in pond. I went as close as thirty feet, turned around and went to the house to call the police. Two weeks before a young nurse was abducted coming home about midnight, right down the road from the pond. The police arrived, helicopters were flying overhead, CSI unit, in total about ten vehicles. I have been around many dead people and thought this was one. Thankfully it was a mannequin someone put there. The police even we're not sure until they actually got to it. Someone, thinking it funny, had staged a crime scene in a very isolated area. So yes, I understand your relief in discovering that your incident today was not the real deal.

Ya know, whoever did it was probably hiding nearby filming the whole thing and now it will probably be on Youtube or something.

Just kidding, thankfully it was a prank and not the real deal. Seriously, it would have given me the willie's too, I'm sure.
Yes, I was talking to myself; sometimes even I have to ask for expert advice.
