Great looking fish for sure. I just hate it when I loose the only jig that's really putting it to them fishes... congrats, and thank you for sharing with us.
On an other note, Super Dave, That chenille looks a lot like one I have called bluegill...

Talking about fishing off the bank and lure's used I got a short story. Many many years ago, in my early teen's, I was bank fishing on the bank on, I think it was the Hudson River near Narrowsberg, New York. Ran out of bait so I found a white feather laying on the ground and hooked it to the shank of the hook with a split shot. Don't know what the fish were but that feather on the hook killed them! Not sure I'd even try that today. make me wonder though just what you might be able to catch fish on. I'm gonna have to try that again next time I go for crappie! Probably work on them. Only thing I haven't got them on is a green and white tube and anything with chartreuse on it. That's strange to me, chartreuse is my favorite color auger tail for small mouth bass! Now that I think a bit, that feather held on the hook with a split shot would be the first jig I ever used!

If you used the "telephone" my grandfather used to call them with you always got an answer! And all the fish you wanted to eat.

Same here. Was pushing road runners about a mile an hour in 4 FOW and they were slamming it. Burying the rod to the first joint.
