Thanks guys, but I’m kind of cheating though, this is 400 acres private lake so I guess it is easier for me to catch these size fish compare to others.

They have been catching on average over 100 a year over 10 lbs out of Toledo Bend. On the Texas/Louisiana border. It is public and 186,000 acres. My point is, don't matter where from a big fish is a big fish. Congrats on yours. My 2 biggest are 7.3 and 7.9 out of Toledo Bend. I also wish yours would have been prespawn. My 7.3 was post spawn and the taxidermist said she would have been a 9 plus pounder a couple weeks sooner. I am going to post a pic of the replica for you. Did not do anything with the 7.9 except release her. first 2 pics will be the 7.3 live and the replica. 3rd pic is a friend of mine with an 11 pound caught on 1st cast in middle of boat lane near our old camp while his MIL was taking a pic. lol. He is a C.c member also.

A fine fish indeed, even if it is green.

Thanks too bad this fish caught at night so not a lot of detail. I tried my best not to lay the fish down to get a good picture nor good measurement. This girl, I didn’t even know it was that big at first but when she saw me and my head light she ran like a tank. A few times she ran under dock and all I did, would just pray for her to come out. My setup was Lite/Finesse gear and wouldn’t be able to control her if she decided to do something unimaginable. I lost a big fish with this set up before when bass decide to hit and run, jump and spit the hook out. Luckily I didn’t put a lot of pressure on the line and she only jumped once. I can say it was 80% luck that I got to hold her, “ thank you lord giving me mercy”
This is my setup, Rod Majorcraft Benkei 6’7 Lite, Reel shimano conquest 50, line 10lb braid with 6lb copolymer leader.
