Thanks man, I can share a few more vids when i get the time to compile the links on a post, but it's very popular in japan for trout fishing small streams! I will continue to crappie fish with baitcasters for the rest of the year. Got a little detour coming since one a company just sent me a new spinning rod to test out. Glad you have enjoyed the video!

Another good video. I caught a nice size crappie couple weeks ago with a very messed up jaw. It wasn’t released though.

Thanks Dave! if it was a crappie i would have taken it home. since it was a bass.. i rather throw it back lol. i mean i know people do eat them but i dunno... i can't seem to do it lol. would had been my excuse for a trendy catch and cook video tho!

Good job man and glad that knock off aldebaran served you well. I too tried a lot of tiny swimbait, so far CB slider grub is the best but yesterday I caught a 14” from the one I just got from China. The good thing ordered these is cheap but it take a long time to arrive and some have plastic smell. I think there are still a few more on the way and one of them look like yours.
Try up the weight on your jig head to 1/20oz or 1.5 grams, you will cast a lot further and with paddle tail style it sink slower than stinger shad style.
My catch from yesterday, but it seemed like they all moving deep now. I only caught a few.

LOL that reel is the bomb! i think it needs some tweaks such as cleaning out the stock grease from the bearings, add some drag grease as it was totally dry. the main gears were only lightly lubed where as some weren't. long story short, u get what u pay for, but if you don't mind taking it apart, you can have a fun setup to catch fish on UL baitcasting!

yeah i order cool stuff and cheap stuff from aliexpress, takes forever to come but it's worth it some times lol. But yes i do up my weights once in a while. I was doing this video purely because i got some free samples and i feel bad for not making a video out of a small company who just trying to make some money. I don't ice fish with the Eurotackle stuff but i crappie and pan fish with them! heck i even put them on a fly rod and give it a go! lol

My standby is the Charlie Brewer Slider Grub. Have caught a ton on them.

Them sliders have done well for me in the past. I am exploring ton of stuff at the moment but when things go tough i do put a slider one!

You might consider using a Daiwa 100A with braid. Casts great, good gear ratio, smooth drag and anti-reverse button

you can upgrade to air bearing, that would help a lot in startup for light lure. I also just got another budget BFS reel, Daiwa alphas air, should be here this Saturday and hope to catch some nice one along with my pixy.

Like seeing those bait caster's out there. The crappie jig head's I use are to small to cast with my bait casting reeds but I caught a crappie by accident one time fishing for bass with a 1/4os jig head and 2 1/2" auger tail grub. Gonna have to try it again. Also got a few really small plugs I can cast with one of my bait caster's.

Thanks man, the key of baitcasters casting small lures is by having the lightest spool as possible. To achieve that, they create shallow spools to hold less line. throwing 1/32 oz and the soft plastic is probably the limit with my setup, but a 1/16 oz and a 2 inch grubtail can do pretty well.

I don't ever throw 1/4 oz around my way since i live only have shallow lakes, ponds and swamps around my areas lOL

that's not budget BFS reel lol.. i mean.. might be the cheapest for Japanese brand ones. one thing for sure it's definitely should be higher quality than anything i am playing with!
