    Default Boat deck lights

I been thing about putting some deck light on my boat. I not sure of what color I thinking about going with. I like to put light on front deck and back deck. I thought about white but how about the bugs coming to them, anyone have any experience with plan white.

I don't night fish anymore but when I did the white light would draw every bug on the lake. I took some yellow paint and painted the lenses and it cut down the bugs. You might want to look into blue, red or green color lights. You still will be able to see without the bugs.

Fish and save .com has lights that are half price. Click on accessories and than marine. Plus they have free shipping.

Green will not give you night blindness when you look away.

Super Nova fishing lights outfitted my boat with blue led lights on the inside including below the center console and in the livewell and they are great. The boat is outfitted with white led lights if you have to turn them on for an emergency or at the end of the trip when you are through with your night vision. Super Nova also did a strip of green led lights under the outside rail down both sides so you have a built in fish attractor. Takes about 30 minutes to get action, though.

Way many moons ago and I think the still do to a big extent onboard ship at night every thing was light with red lights at night. Was supposed to be easier on your eyes for night vision and if you opened a top side door it didn’t shine out like white light. Then in the 70’s in the fire control spaces where guys were working with middle launch controllers their spaces were blacked out and light with blue lights. The experts said it was much better for your night vision than even the red.

My son put these on his boat. He was also told he couldn’t have blue light on his sides.
