I too have used about everything under the sun on a spinner blade rig. Being hook up they’re just about weed less and cast like a stone.

I had chunked a beetle Spin till my arm fell off -- then removed them from my tackle.. I have made 3 trips with a friend that uses a modified version... Spinner removed and a larger willow blade replaces it.. He caught 5 fish to my one using crickets-- mine were mostly bream dinks while a lot of his bluegills were 8 inches. when I started smearing Slab Sauce on the crickets big Bream started slamming my bait. He convinced me that bait will work

I have used different baits on small spinners, including tube jigs as long as I can remember. I usually tie directly to the spinner. 2 questions. 1. Why do you use a snap, just habit or another reason? 2. Never seen a snap hooked up like that, usually tie to the small end and hook bait on the bigger end. What is the reason you clip it like in the pics. Enquiring mind needs to know, and I need all the help I can get.

For some reason line gets tangled in the rig's wire loop that the line is attached to - especially braid and casting light lures into the wind.
