Road Runners should do it or small jigs.

I would throw the itty bitty Bobby Garlands on 1/64 jig heads with a size 10 hook with 2lb test line. I have found down sizing your bait with clear line is the key to catching highly pressured fish. If this does not work try small minnows hook thru the lips with a size 8 Owner mosquito hook on 2lb test line. Good luck.

Ok everyone. Big question. With no visible cover except on the shore, how do I find crappie in a pond? It's a decent size pond, not sure the acreage, but I cant cast to the middle with my longest cast. I fished the edges of vegetation in the shallows and couldn't keep the bluegill from biting

I hit that pond today and caught some good healthy bluegill and a largemouth. But zero crappie. Used the fly rod and the spinning rod with Pico Scent Ring jigs sprayed with Slabsauce. Didnt know where to exactly cast to for crappie.

I casted all over the pond, that's could reach. Granted I fished only half the shoreline but any good cover I saw was on the shore I fished. Do crappie hang out shallow like 2-3 feet if the max depth of the pond is only 6 feet? I just never figured crappie to hang out close to shore in shallow water outside of the spawn.

They most certainly will. Especially if there's weeds, pads, or anything else that would provide shade. Oxygen levels would be higher around any water greenery, too.

Ok so I need to fish shallower on my bobber since they feed up. There was good vegetation on the edges of the water I'll work thoroughly next time. Plus I'll change up the fly.

On the fly rod? So just do a figure 8 or slow strip retrieval or fish a dry fly? Will crappie hit top water?
