Check these items before replacing your reel.
    1. spool your line back on the original spool. Take the spool out of box. Place the spool with line on it in a bucket of water, enough water to float the spool. Reload your reel using your fingers to keep tension on line while reeling line back on to your reel. The water will relax the line and spool will rotate to keep line from twisting on your reel.
    2. always open and close the bail with your hand.
    3. Before reeling always lift rod tip to put tension on line before and while reeling.
    4. If drag is to loose will twist your line.

    Hope this helps.

Try braided line tie direct or use a mono leader of fluorocarbon.

GreenLine, I've used Goldcast for many, many years. Probably have 12 or more on rods right now. Plus, I bought new ones years ago and put them away to stockpile them in case they quit making them. It's my understanding they did quit making them for awhile when Bass Pro quit selling them. I loved the little anti reverse button on the side. I've caught some very big fish with 6 lb. test just because I would flip it and use my index finger and thumb for a drag. Cast great but downside was it would eventually get line twist which all spincast do.
I would then use a tool called "Twist Out" to work it out. I don't think they make this tool anymore. I need to learn how to post a picture of it on this website in hope someone picked it up and kept using making them.

Yes , even the mighty gold cast will sometimes eventually get line twist but for some reason they always work longer than any other I’ve used.
