Default The Saga Continues, Next Chapter: SUCCESS!

My neighbor and I fished together today at his invitation. Nice Bass Tracker 17.5 boat. Fish finders, etc. He showed me several places where he has built brush piles that are an easy reach for my Scanoe and electric trolling motor. He told me to bring a hand held GPS so I could mark some spots, which I did. In every place that he showed me, we both caught fish. I learned a little more about where the brush piles are and he showed me a trick or 2 about how to know what depth you are fishing, boat control, etc. I feel like I am a bit better prepared to go out on my own, now, and fish. But he must have enjoyed it too, because he said, "I will call you again soon and we will go again." He had lost my phone number and had tried to call me before but without success. But he ran into my wife on Wednesday and got my number from her. This was his next trip out and so he called me. He's a really nice guy and we hit it off from the start. And he fishes almost every day, but some days he takes his cousin with him. But if we just fish together occassionally, that will be great for me.

Hartwell is known primarily as a Largemouth, Striper lake and so my neighbor commented today on there not being a lot of Crappie pressure on our lake, and so he must not be too concerned about letting others know about some of his spots.

Putting myself in your shoes, the brush piles you find belong to the public. The brush piles he showed you belong to you and him. I would not share the locations
of those piles without consulting with him before hand. Especially if he put them out. I enjoyed your thread. You are on your way.
    Tell'em I'll be there.

i totally agree with you, Stormcloud. Sounds like common courtesy to me. I doubt that I would share them at all, unless I had one of my sons in the boat with me. They would probably only fish with me anyway, and in that case, I might just fish them with one of my sons in the boat with me. What I’m saying is that my sons would not fish them except with me and they would have no reason to tell anyone else where they are.

But since no one but residents can put boat in it's not a problem. Only few fish for crappie.

What they said- public is public, but you do not have to show someone, where they are- unless you want to.
