this post has something to do with ketchn crappie and nothing to do with ketchn crappie at the same time . the other night we targeted white bass under green lights .
they were finicky as heck and we could see them follow jigs and even peck at em sometimes.
there was lots of fry in the water about 1 inch long on the surface . Mississippi silversides or ghost minnows as we call em here .
I pinched the tail off a monkey milk colored bait and ran it on a white 1/32 number 6 and it made the pursuit much more pleasant bite wise .
I was trying to imitate the fry and that said I think you might want to try the same with the crappie , I failed to get it until it was to late that day and found out with the white bass that was quite possibly the bait to employ during the crappie pursuits .
but to be sure I have noticed a strong lack of bites lately on larger baits .
    food for thought yawl .
have a great day and a nice weekend TGIF !

Yup, I have downsized last couple of weekends and seems to have helped catch rate. I keep thinking "big bait=big fish" but not always the case.

Good tip Ketchn. From what I am seeing, the crappie are definitely getting more scattered and more finicky.
