I keep coming back to my Cadence CS7 6'3" 1-piece light extra-fast rod for panfish, crappie, and dock shooting (@ $75). I got one out of curiosity after seeing Richard Gene using one on YT, and it has become a favorite when I can't use a JDM, like for shooting under trees or docks, or fishing in the kayak, which is tough on rods. I've caught typical panfish, to bass weighing several pounds, and it handles 'em all. I've gotten fond of it and will probably buy another to put away.

I use a 5'6" Berkley Lightning Rod UL with Zebco 11 Micro for Panfish. I fish a lot on Rivers where I am casting mostly under tree limbs. I like the action of a big fish on the short rod. Takes a while to get them in but is great fun.
