Looks like a fun day. Congratulations on the catch, large or small, you still got to enjoy the thump!
Beautiful day yesterday and my best buddy I’ve known my whole life and I headed to the lake. Decided to go to the city lake and enjoy the outdoors. Being this lake has a motor restriction there is very little activity and more chances to get some peace and hear yourself think. We launched as soon as they opened and I quickly caught a small catfish on a road runner.
As we worked our way down the bank my buddy caught some bluegill while I explored a channel I hadn’t been down before. On my way back out I noticed a large group of fish and decided to drop my little gray jig down. Wham! Right of the bat I caught one. Sweet, let’s try again. Wham, once again they liked my offering. Fish were 8 ft deep in 12 ft of water.
I called my buddy over and there we stayed for an enjoyable trip. Lost count how many we caught but we kept none and just enjoyed the catching. None of much size but a joy to catch.
We both were tired from sitting in the kayak and called it a day. Came home and spent the rest of the day with family. Wonderful trip, looking forward to the next.
